We are happy to announce a new Queensland State Ranking System for Snooker, Billiards and Women, starting on the 1st January 2020.
Our previous ranking system was a little bit outdated and confusing to understand. It included results from Pennants, other non-open events, such as the Minors and Masters, and special events such as the 6 Reds. These type of events should not be included in a Ranking System and the feedback we have received mentioned this a lot.
The Management Committee has worked hard and had a number of lengthy discussions about a replacement system that will better align with our values moving forward.
From the 1st of January 2020, we will be moving to a 12-month rolling ranking system. Points will be allocated for participation and results in events that qualify as a Ranking Event.
Our points system has been adapted from the popular Reventon Ranking System and we believe will work well for the QBSA.
Full details on which events will be counted and how points are allocated can be found here on our Rankings page: https://qldbilliardsandsnooker.asn.au/rankings/
To start the new system off, we will be backdating results from qualifying events held in 2019, and these new lists will be published in January 2020.
This is the first of many more announcements coming over the next few weeks, so make sure you sign up to our Mailing List so you don’t miss out.
